The Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women, University of Baghdad, hosted a delegation from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Department of Labor and Vocational Training, Labor Resource Center and Labor Migration, a dialogue session entitled (Regular migration, the dangers of irregular migration and support for returning migrants).
The session aimed to raise awareness regarding regular migration and the dangers of irregular migration and warn against the consequences of dealing with illegal migrant smuggling gangs and human trafficking gangs, as well as supporting the category of returnees from the countries of displacement, whether economic or social support and how to integrate them into Iraqi society, while urging to build the capacity of job seekers and develop their skills through vocational training centers courses or self-development.
The session concluded by presenting a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the continuation of cooperation between (the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs / Department of Labor and Vocational Training – Center for Labor Resources and Workers’ Migration) and the University of Baghdad in the frequency of holding sessions, developing posters introducing the dangers of irregular migration and its consequences, and coordinating the time of holding sessions in line with the attendance of students due to the importance of the topic.
This session achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal of quality education and the seventeenth goal of partnerships to achieve the goals.
