The Department of Computer Science at the College of Science for Women at the University of Baghdad organized the International Coder Festival on the occasion of International Coder Day in the presence of the Dean and Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Yusra Abdul Saheb, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Adel Hussein Talib, and a number of college teachers and employees.
The festival began with a verse of the Holy Quran, the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs, and the playing of the national anthem. The ceremony opened with a speech delivered by Mrs. Dean and the Head of the Computer Science Department, Dr. Nima Enad Kazim.
Everyone stressed the role of modern technology and its advanced applications and its importance for the development of the future in light of the digital revolution, which is the backbone, guide, and controlled by modern life, as well as the need to learn programming skills, artificial and automated intelligence, cloud computing, and enhancing skills to solve problems and develop ideas, and touched on the challenges facing the programmer such as rapid development and intense competition, and everyone stressed the importance of this technology to obtain job opportunities in several fields. In conclusion, the students’ distinctive projects of programs and applications depend on programming and artificial intelligence to serve many work sectors.
