In its fourth open session, the Council of the University of Baghdad directed the deans of all colleges to encourage student activities in formations and give them great importance because of their positive impact on students’ success, excellence, and building their personalities.
The recommendations of the Council included directing the university’s formations to follow up the registration of new students and the formation of reception committees from experienced teachers, as well as directing the Guidance Department to receive new students and provide a stimulating and attractive environment to ensure that the largest number of students enroll in the study programs according to their desire.
The session focused on the importance of the deans of the formations presenting initiatives, proposals, and ideas to enhance the spirit of citizenship among teachers, with a focus on the development of research units and the integration of disciplines into research units to activate the fields of practical research. The Council dealt with the mechanisms of scientific publishing for all disciplines and in sober journals and assigned the Department of Scientific Affairs at the University Presidency to review and update the journals approved by the University Council.
The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, also directed the assignment of the Central Scientific Promotions Division in the Presidency of the University to include the first page of the research submitted for scientific promotion.
