The University of Baghdad Council, during its third open session for the 2024-2025 academic year, established a new protocol for selecting the winning department among colleges and research centers based on the highest number of scientific publications in global databases. This initiative acknowledges their contributions to providing and documenting information on the university in both local and global rankings.
The session included directives for all university department deans to closely monitor the weekly publication of research in global databases, in coordination with their respective departments and scientific branches, and to develop mechanisms that encourage an increase in scientific research publications. Additionally, they were instructed to oversee the completion and regular updating of data in the electronic Human Resources (HR) system.
The council also urged departments and faculty members to propose scientific research units to leverage academic expertise and intensify efforts to enhance research publication. Departments were further encouraged to prioritize and equip scientific laboratories to offer the best possible academic resources to students.
The session was chaired by Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, with the presence of Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof.Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof.Dr. Ameer Faisal Abdul Ameer, and the deans of the university’s departments.
