The Dean of the College of Education for Women at the University of Baghdad, Assist.Prof.Dr. Athmar Shakir Majid Al-Shatari, has launched the “Wall of Brotherhood” campaign as part of the “Hope” initiative to support displaced families from Lebanon and Palestine currently residing in Iraq. This initiative involves the collection of food donations and essential household supplies in response to the criminal acts and retaliatory violence, as well as the displacement they have suffered at the hands of the Zionist occupying entity, in accordance with directives from the Prime Minister and in response to the call of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
During a meeting with members of the committee appointed from the college faculty to oversee the food and material donation campaign, Prof.Dr. Athmar Al-Shatari emphasized that this campaign is rooted in our belief in the justice of our cause and our solidarity. It stems from a moral responsibility towards our families in Lebanon and Gaza. The committee will be authorized to collect donations from all college staff and will document the names of all contributors, as well as the food and material assistance received, before forwarding them to the relevant authorities.
It is important to note that these ongoing humanitarian campaigns and initiatives launched by the College of Education for Women, both locally and internationally, are part of our national consciousness, religious and ethical commitments, and humanitarian principles. They aim to strengthen noble and enduring positions and contribute to providing assistance to our families and brothers in Lebanon and Palestine. Supporting them is a duty for our people and our academic institutions.
