As part of the scientific and cultural cooperation between the College of Languages at the University of Baghdad and Iranian universities, Prof.Dr. Anwar Abbas Majid from the Department of Persian Language participated in the Ninth International Conference on the Shahriar Scientific and Cultural Medal, which was held at the University of Tabriz.
He was selected among distinguished professors in the field of Persian language and literature from five countries: Iraq, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, to participate in the conference. He was honored with the conference’s medal and shield, held in celebration of Persian Poetry and Literature Day and in commemoration of the great Iranian poet, Seyyed Mohammad-Hossein Shahriar.
On the sidelines of the conference, he also participated in several scientific and cultural sessions aimed at enhancing the levels of Persian language teaching and learning for non-native speakers.
These scientific participations by the faculty of the College of Languages highlight the academic stature of the University of Baghdad’s professors, who serve as a bridge for scientific and cultural exchange with foreign universities.
