The Dean of the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Ammar Taher, received a delegation from the French Embassy in Iraq and France Médias Monde to discuss mutual cooperation, the training of faculty and students, and curriculum development. The meeting was also attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof.Dr. Shukriya Al-Sarraj.
The meeting aimed to establish a framework for collaboration between the French delegation and the College of Mass Communication, while also reviewing the organizational structure and the number of faculty members with professional media experience in journalistic institutions. Additionally, the delegation was given a tour of the college, visiting the student training complex, laboratories, and classrooms.
The delegation also met with faculty, staff, and students from the College of Mass Communication who had participated in the “Innovative Journalism in Iraq” program, which was organized in cooperation with the France Médias Monde Academy and sponsored by the French Embassy in Iraq.
It is worth noting that France Médias Monde is a state-owned French institution that oversees and coordinates the activities of major public media organizations broadcasting or publishing internationally from France, including Radio France Internationale, Monte Carlo Doualiya, and the news television channel France 24.
