Two faculty members from the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, Assist.Prof.Dr. Abdul Hussein Al-Askari and Assist.Lecturer Ahmed Issam from the Department of Architecture, participated as members of the “Committee for Rectifyting Project Implementation in Iraq Using Building Information Modeling (BIM).”
These meetings aim to establish a guideline framework for organizing the use of BIM technology in construction projects, representing a significant advancement, especially as many countries are still in the early stages of adopting this system. The proposed measures align with ongoing developmental plans in Iraq, particularly in the construction of large-scale residential, administrative, and service projects, contributing to accelerating reconstruction efforts and reducing costs.
The committee includes experts from the University of Technology, the Engineers’ Syndicate, the Ministry of Planning, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities, as well as the Engineering Department of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
