The College of Science at the University of Baghdad hosted the event for the launch of the national programmatic standards for accrediting science programs. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Salah Hadi Saleh, Chairman of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority; Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Assistant of President for Scientific Affairs; as well as the Presidents of Diyala University and Al-Karkh University of Science. Also present were the Chairman of the Deans of Science Colleges Committee, the Chairwoman of the Deans of Computer Science and Mathematics Colleges Committee, Assist.Prof.Dr. Raed Faleh Hassan, Dean of the College of Science, and deans from science colleges across all Iraqi universities.
The event aimed to launch the standards recognizing the role of science colleges in supplying the job market with specialized and qualified personnel to meet the needs of the Ministry of Higher Education. The objective is to enhance the quality of education in pure science disciplines by establishing national accreditation standards for undergraduate programs that align with labor market requirements.
A special meeting was held alongside the ceremony for the Committee of Deans of Science Colleges, where discussions focused on organizing aspects related to curricula and supervising graduate students to ensure the application of educational quality standards and academic rigor within the colleges.
