The “Al-Waqai’ Journal,” issued by the International Istanbul Conference, has published a scientific research paper titled “The Role of Socialization in State-Building: Iraq as a Case Study,” authored by Dr. Nadia Abbas Fadli, a researcher and academic at the Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad.

The research aimed to study the topic of socialization, which is crucial in all societies, including Arab societies with a specific focus on Iraq. Socialization involves instilling values, customs, and traditions deeply into the hearts of community members, starting from childhood through adulthood and even into old age. It is urgently needed to cultivate citizenship, loyalty, and

patriotism among individuals. These are the values and culture that guide individual behaviors through family, universities, governmental institutions, civil society organizations, media, and social media to build a strong foundation for states, especially those that have undergone painful historical experiences.

The research highlights the importance of developing and integrating these concepts as a fundamental cornerstone in educational curricula. This aims to nurture an enlightened generation capable of building their nation and preserving its achievements.
