The Crisis Studies Department at the Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad held a discussion session titled “Political Conflicts and Their Impact on Social Development in Iraq.” The session was led by Assist.Lecturer Shaimaa Fadel Nassif from the Center for International Studies.
The research paper aimed to elucidate the multiple effects of political conflicts on social development in Iraq by providing an overview of political conflicts in Iraq throughout history. It sought to analyze both the negative and positive impacts these conflicts have had on Iraqi society. Additionally, the paper explored the challenges to social development in Iraq due to these conflicts and examined possible ways to overcome these challenges and future paths to enhance social development in the country.
The discussion session included an exploration of Iraq’s rich history and its strategic position, which is crucial for studying the impact of political conflicts on social fabric. The researcher emphasized the importance of understanding significant periods in Iraq’s history of political conflicts to comprehend the roots of current conflicts and their effects on social development in the country. Analyzing these periods can help identify influential factors and guide efforts towards building a better future for Iraq.
