A delegation from the University of Baghdad, headed by the President of the university, Prof.Dr.Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, along with the technical team from the Center of Excellence for Solar Energy at the university, which includes members from the College of Engineering and the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, and members from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, visited the Federal Republic of Germany to examine renewable energy sites.
The visit, organized by the World Bank and the RENAC Academy in Berlin, aimed to learn about best practices in the field of solar energy and transfer this knowledge to the new Center of Excellence for Solar Energy to be established at the University of Baghdad. Additionally, the visit underscores the university’s commitment to developing sustainable energy solutions and contributing to global efforts towards a greener future
The President of the University of Baghdad emphasized the importance of this scientific visit to learn about renewable energy sites and the latest developments adopted by Germany. He stressed the necessity of conducting discussions on quality assurance and certification processes to stay abreast of the latest trends in photovoltaic technology, ensuring that the Center of Excellence adheres to the highest standards. He highlighted that visits to these leading institutions are invaluable for understanding the latest advancements and best practices in the field of renewable energy.
The delegation also visited the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Freiburg, the Institute of Physics at the University of Oldenburg, the Institute of Education (FSI) at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin (BHT), the Solar House at the Technical University of Berlin (TU), the University of the Arts (UDK), the Renewable Energy Academy (RENAC) AG, and the KIWA Institute for Photovoltaic Energy AG.
