The University of Baghdad hosted the inaugural conference on technological and scientific incubators, under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, along with the participation of several members of the Parliamentary Education Committee and presidents of Iraqi universities.
The conference aimed to narrow the gap between the outputs of the Ministry of Higher Education and the demands of the labor market. It also sought to establish joint-stock companies to promote the investment of scientific and research knowledge in the development of the local economy and the empowerment of young talents.
The conference also featured a speech by Dr.Naim, who celebrated Iraq’s higher education sector achieving first place in the Arab world and seventh globally in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for Sustainable Development. He highlighted that the ministry has committed to finding effective solutions to reduce graduate unemployment by supporting and nurturing young entrepreneurs during and after their university studies. Incubators play a crucial role in building an integrated entrepreneurial community by transforming ideas into productive projects within a knowledge-based economy. This conference is part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to cultivate a generation of young entrepreneurs capable of steering the economy toward a brighter future.
