The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, welcomed a delegation from the Italian Embassy in Iraq and the President of the University of Naples, Dr. Roberto Tottoli, to explore ways for enhancing academic and cultural exchanges between the two nations. The meeting was attended by Prof.Dr. Wadood Taher, Dean of the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, Dr. Ali Adnan, Dean of the College of Languages, and Dr. Enas Khalifa Al-Sharqi, Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department at the University Presidency.
During the visit, the delegation discussed the activation of the visiting professor program between the universities, student exchanges under the “Study in Iraq” initiative, joint supervision, and collaboration among scientific journals. Additionally, they addressed issues pertaining to climate change and deliberated on topics related to sustainable development.
The President of the University emphasized the importance of fostering connections with European universities, working in multiple directions to advance academic pathways, and discussing ways to increase the number of students participating in academic scholarships to Italy to benefit from modern scientific expertise.
The visit also included the presentation of scholarly information on the cultural histories of both countries. In turn, Dr. Roberto, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Presidency of the University of Baghdad for their warm welcome and hospitality.
