The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific symposium entitled (Acquired Pneumonia) delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Wafa I Mansour and in the presence of a number of faculty members in the college. The symposium aimed to identify the types and treatment of community-acquired pneumonia.

The symposium also included several themes that dealt with the concept of pneumonia, which is defined as inflammation of the lung. Caused by microorganisms and is the leading infectious cause of death globally among children under the age of 5 years, hypersensitivity reactions or pneumonia caused by drugs or radiation, as well as the types and treatment of community-acquired pneumonia.

In conclusion, the symposium recommended treatments, including the introduction of respiratory distress (hypoxia, inability to feed, apnea, severe tachypnea) to the hospital, and that children with hypoxia receive 90% more oxygen, and fluids can be given intravenously or through a nasogastric tube, and that nasal and oral suction is limited to the nostrils or pharynx.
