The Women’s Affairs Unit and the Volunteer Work Committee at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad, visited Dar Al-Attaa for the elderly in Al-Sulaikh / Baghdad Governorate, the Department of Care for People with Special Needs, to provide in-kind assistance of foodstuffs as a humanitarian initiative contributing to community service, according to the ministry’s directives to activate effective activities to serve the community, as well as activating the educational and humanitarian roles to extend a helping hand to those in need of assistance from these categories such as orphans, the blind, the elderly, people with blood diseases and others.
They were received by the director of the six homes, Shorouq Rahim Hammadi, explaining to the members of the delegation the mechanism of work in the home and how to deal with this category while working to provide and provide all the services they need. This visit achieves one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely the second goal of zero hunger and the tenth goal of reducing inequalities.
