The teacher at the Educational and Psychological Research Center, teacher Afrah Al-Sabbagh, showed her talent in drawing by recycling nylon bags and turning them into a beautiful work of art, Al-Sabbagh has the talent for drawing since childhood and exploited this talent artistically to spread the culture of recycling and dealing with plastic waste in light of the climate changes in the country.
Al-Sabbagh indicated that she witnessed the economic embargo on Iraq in the nineties of the last century. These difficult circumstances taught her the value of what she buys or gets, so she developed a unique passion for recycling what is damaged or useless. She added that she has more artistic ideas based on waste recycling, as she turns spent notebooks into paintings, cans into pencils for children at school, re-sewn old clothes, and buried damaged food to become a good fertilizer for the soil.
At the university, the university professor was keen to share this experience with her students, as the classrooms at her university turned into a vibrant art gallery, and the students excelled in transforming simple materials such as plastic beverage bottles and nylon bags into works of art that embody their creativity and energies.
