The Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies participated in the Seventh Scientific Conference under the theme “Economic and Administrative Policies in Iraq and Their Role in Enhancing Investments and Sustainable Growth,” organized by the University of Al-Qadisiyah, College of Administration and Economics, in collaboration with Bayan University – Erbil, Al-Mustaqbal University – College of Administrative Sciences, and Al-Taif Islamic Bank, with the presence of researchers from various Iraqi and Arab universities.
The institute’s participation was represented by the research titled “The Role of Opportunity Cost in Implementing Electronic Payment,'” which aimed to highlight the role of opportunity cost in the implementation of electronic payment, especially when there is an alternative solution to the traditional method of using cash in exchange for goods or services.
The research included the trend of markets and stores towards integrating electronic payment as part of an electronic marketing approach to successfully achieve sustainable development in its social, political, environmental, and economic dimensions when investing in various types of projects. It concluded that reducing costs in terms of effort, time, and money through the electronic method (electronic payment) is more efficient than the traditional method, in addition to achieving sustainable development in the Iraqi investment environment.
