The University of Baghdad has ranked first locally among 45 other competing Iraqi universities in the international Round University Ranking (RUR) of universities. The RUR ranking, which is internationally recognized, assesses universities worldwide based on 20 indicators across four key areas: teaching, research, international diversity, and financial sustainability.
The ranking results indicate that the University of Baghdad has advanced to the 668th position, compared to its 768th place in the year 2023. This marks a significant improvement, with the university moving up 100 places in the overall ranking compared to its counterparts in other universities.
The ranking includes progress in the university’s teaching axis by 70 positions, advancement in scientific research by 129 positions, as well as improvement in international relations by 70 positions, and financial sustainability by 59 positions.
This achievement comes as part of the University of Baghdad’s plan to elevate its standing in international rankings, which this year focused on achieving systematic and planned results, monitored and implemented on a daily basis.
