The College of Pharmacy won one of the centers within the first ten in the second National Heir of the Prophets Award for Research Excellence in the field of medical sciences for the year 2023, with the participation of Dr. Ali Aziz Ali, where the number of applicants exceeded 300 applicants from various Iraqi colleges and universities. This participation is the only representative of the University of Baghdad in the axis of medical research within the top ten.
It is worth noting that the participant from the College of Pharmacy has an H-index = 12 high among the faculty teachers with 57 published research and 539 citations for his research within the Scopus container, and the conditions for applying for the competition were as follows – that the applicant’s H-index is not less than 10 in the Scopus container and that he has at least five research published in Scopus and one of them in a journal classified within the first quarter of 2023.
The evaluation was based on the total number of citations of researchers at Scopus and Web of Science, as well as the number of research published in the Scopus container in 2023, and the winners were honored at the ceremony hosting the University of Warith al-Anbiya in Karbala and in the presence of the Scientific Undersecretary of the Minister of Higher Education and the Secretary-General of the Holy Husseiniya Shrine and the President of Warith al-Anbiya University, Dr. Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayawi.
