The Center for Women’s Studies at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the National Department of Iraqi Women in the Council of Ministers, the Department of Women’s Affairs in the Ministry of Education, the Al-Ariqa Foundation for Culture and Development, and the Arab Forum for Women’s Studies and Training, held a national conference on the development of Iraqi women in accordance with the Islamic approach and national and social constants.
The conference aimed to introduce modern methods of supporting women’s industrial and social projects, and ways to implement them, in cooperation with the concerned departments and the relevant supporting parties. The opening work of the two-day conference included a speech by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, official speeches by a number of women deputies and representatives of relevant ministries and institutions, as well as research sessions on the impact of women in reforming society and their impact on economic development, community building, and sustainable development.
In a speech during the conference, the Director of the Center for Women’s Studies at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Azra Ismail Zaidan, stressed that women are active and influential partners in all the achievements made at all levels.
