The University of Baghdad athletics team was crowned with the Universities Cup Award for Athletics, which was held at the University of Sulaymaniyah, with the participation of a number of public and private universities, and under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The tournament witnessed strong competition between the teams of public and private universities participating in the National Universities Cup to win the competition award, through which the University of Baghdad team was able to provide a distinguished performance that enabled it to reach the final and obtain the championship title.
For his part, the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, confirmed during his reception of the training staff, that the students of the athletics team presented outstanding levels of performance, through which they deserved to be crowned first place in the championship. He pointed out that the mother of universities will continue to support the rest of the sports teams to achieve more positive results in the important sports tournaments supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education.
