The Center for Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad hosted a workshop titled “The Involvement of Iraqi Women in Combating Corruption in State Institutions,” attended by several professors and researchers. The lecture was delivered by Ms. Malak Ali Hassan from the Military Retirement Department, specifically the Audit and Oversight Division.

The workshop addressed various forms of corruption within international institutions and explored the underlying societal causes contributing to its spread. It also delved into the delineation of powers among the three branches of government and the pivotal role women play in combating corruption. Recommendations were provided to reduce corruption both within institutions and society as a whole, drawing upon the experiences of nations engaged in anti-corruption efforts, references from the Quran condemning corruption, and an examination of its moral, administrative, financial, and political dimensions. Furthermore, an empirical study was discussed, focusing on women’s individual contributions to combating corruption within their respective roles.
