The College of Education for Women at the University of Baghdad organized its second international conference entitled (Motherhood, Childhood and the Sustainability of Human Capital) in cooperation with UNICEF for Children and the Children’s Culture House at the Ministry of Culture, in the presence of the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, the Dean of the College of Education for Women, Dr. Ithmar Al-Shatri, and a number of personalities with the participation of more than 30 researchers.

The conference aimed to highlight the most important indicators and development gaps, identify the most important challenges threatening childhood and motherhood in the field of education, discuss the most important economic and social variables affecting the life of the child, as well as identify the most important threats to digital technology for the human security of the Iraqi child. The conference included several axes, including childhood, human security, and education, as well as the axis of women, children, and digital technology.

The conference came out with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is building bridges of communication and cooperation between members of society, working to develop the economic sustainability of the family, supporting operations aimed at research and innovation in the field of motherhood and childhood, as well as preparing educational curricula that include embodying the meanings of authentic values to support a culture of tolerance and encourage meaningful dialogue.
