The College of Pharmacy at the University of Baghdad successfully concluded its eleventh International Scientific Conference on Scientific Research, which spanned two days under the theme “Advancements in Pharmaceutical Education and Research.” The ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, the esteemed President of the University of Baghdad, alongside a distinguished gathering of academics and pharmacists.

The primary objective of the conference was to facilitate the exchange of experiences and knowledge, and to explore the latest developments in pharmaceutical sciences and cutting-edge technologies utilized in pharmaceutical research. Furthermore, it served as a platform for sharing expertise and innovative ideas, fostering collaborative partnerships to bolster scientific research and elevate the pharmacy profession.

The conference, held in collaboration with the private sector, notably Pioneer Pharmaceuticals Company, aimed to bridge scientific research with the healthcare landscape in Iraq. A total of 175 research papers were presented by a select group of researchers from diverse universities and international entities.

Among the conference’s key outcomes were several recommendations, including the imperative to provide strong support for and foster the development of pharmaceutical scientific research through both financial backing and moral encouragement. Additionally, there was a call to enhance scientific curricula, advance pharmaceutical education, leverage interactive teaching methodologies and technological tools, and strengthen collaboration between governmental entities by facilitating joint workshops between researchers and stakeholders in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
