His Excellency Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, convened a meeting with the Council of the University of Baghdad, where he emphasized the importance of encouraging scientific capabilities among faculty members and harnessing human resources to improve teaching quality, advance scientific research, and enhance community service.

During the meeting, Al-Aboudi, called for the assessment and review of achieved objectives, completed academic programs, and curricula, with updates tailored to strategic indicators relevant to enhancing the educational process and specialized services. He underscored the need to consider global competitiveness in university rankings, international publications, and the evaluation of accredited educational systems in Iraqi universities, aligning them with developmental imperatives related to the job market and the challenges faced.

Furthermore, the Minister stressed the promotion of cultural awareness and the empowerment of universities and their personnel to fulfill their societal responsibilities. Concurrently, he highlighted the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to collaborate with specialized sectoral institutions to provide support for educators and staff concerning suitable housing. Moreover, His Excellency urged the teaching faculty at the University of Baghdad and its affiliated colleges to join the Iraqi Academic Union, thereby contributing to achieving a responsible level of integration that serves the educational process and bolsters the professional academic work environment.

Lastly, he attentively listened to the suggestions and recommendations of the President of the University of Baghdad and the deans regarding developmental measures and initiatives aimed at nurturing students and delivering scientific, educational, and advisory services to both public and private sector institutions.
