The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, received the winning basketball team of the University of Baghdad Championship at the university’s headquarters. The meeting was attended by Prof.Dr. Ameer Faisal Abdul Ameer, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Ali Sadeq, Director of the Department of Student Activities at the University.
Prof.Dr. Bahaa congratulated the winning team on their exceptional achievement, which serves as a source of pride and honor for the University of Baghdad. He underscored the significance of sports in fostering students’ capabilities and skills, as well as in promoting cooperation and cohesion among them. He reiterated that the advancement of universities is gauged by their athletic prowess. In turn, the winning team expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the President of the University of Baghdad for his unwavering support of sports and athletes at the university, affirming the team’s commitment to continuing to achieve further successes.
It is worth noting that the University of Baghdad team emerged victorious in the final match against Al-Qadisiyah University, hosted by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University in Najaf Governorate. The tournament featured 47 teams from various Iraqi universities, with the University of Baghdad team distinguishing themselves through their strong performance and high sportsmanship, earning the admiration of the audience.
