Within the framework of sustainable development and the expansion of green spaces, as well as environmental stewardship at the University of Baghdad, and in celebration of National Arbor Day, observed on March 12th, the Afforestation Unit within the Office of Diwan Affairs organized a tree planting campaign in the university’s gardens.

The event was graced by the presence of the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof.Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, and the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof.Dr. Amir Faisal Abdul Amir. The campaign aimed to foster a culture of planting, within and outside the university campus, as it aids in shading sunlight and mitigating harmful ultraviolet rays, which are known to cause skin ailments.

Participation in the campaign encompassed all departments of the University of Baghdad, in line with directives from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Presidency of University of Baghdad, aimed at expanding green spaces within and outside the university to safeguard the environment.
