The Executive Office of the Arab Universities Union held its first meeting at the University of Baghdad to discuss several agenda items in preparation for the launch of the Union’s General Conference, coinciding with its sixtieth anniversary. The Secretary-General of the Arab Universities Union, Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, emphasized that Iraq is one of the founding member states of the Union, and the presence of Arab university presidents at the General Conference, hosted for the first time in Baghdad, encourages further integration among Arab educational institutions.
In turn, the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr.Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, welcomed the hosting of the Executive Office of the Union and the General Conference, which will provide a positive atmosphere for solidarity and scientific and academic cooperation between Iraqi universities and their Arab counterparts.
