The Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad hosted its third international and fifth national conference at the Al-Salam Theater in the College of Media, with the presence of Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Amir Faisal Abdul Amir, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Ammar Sabah Khalaf, Head of the Federal Financial Control Bureau, and several advisors to the Prime Minister and senior managers at the Central Bank of Iraq.

The conference was held under the theme “Reforming the Iraqi Economy: Present Challenges and Future Perspectives” to discuss the current challenges facing the Iraqi economy, propose future visions for its reform, facilitate knowledge exchange among researchers and experts in the field of economics, and promote scientific research. Additionally, the conference addressed the role of the private sector in Iraqi economic reform, the government’s role in the process, the importance of education and training in economic reform, and the role of financial institutions and foreign investment.

The conference included academic sessions for discussing conference themes, specialized workshops, and presentations of scientific research. It should be noted that the conference lasted for two days and tomorrow’s sessions will be held in the conference hall at the institute.
