The Department of Student Activities at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held the International Cultural Forum Festival for Eloquent Poetry, in the presence of the Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, assistants to the Rector of the University for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, and a number of poets and teachers from Arab and Iraqi universities.
In their speeches, the speakers stressed the importance of eloquent poetry as an essential element of the Arab identity, and the need to support and encourage it in order to preserve the Arabic language. The opening ceremony included various poetry paragraphs, presented by a number of poets participating in the forum.
This festival comes within the framework of the University of Baghdad’s keenness to enhance its cultural role, support creative poets, and enrich the Arab cultural arena.
