The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific workshop on the steps required to fulfill the criteria for the inclusion of the Veterinary Medical Journal in international publishing repositories. The workshop was attended by the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, and several deans, along with officials from the editorial units of the University of Baghdad’s scientific journals.

The workshop aimed to acquaint participants with the scientific procedures undertaken by the College of Veterinary Medicine, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department at the University of Baghdad, to ensure the Veterinary Medical Journal’s inclusion in prestigious international publishing repositories such as Scopus.

During his attendance at the workshop, Prof.Dr. Bahaa, underscored the importance of all scientific and humanitarian journals affiliated with the University of Baghdad being indexed in international publishing repositories. This would serve to introduce the university’s scientific institutions, highlight the scholarly activities of Iraqi academics, and enhance the capabilities of the university’s journal editorial boards.

Dr. Omar Falah Hassan, Director of the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department, explained during the workshop, hosted by the College of Media, that the workshop’s objective is to improve the operational environment of the scientific journals associated with the colleges and centers of the University of Baghdad, totaling 36 journals. The aim is to bolster their productivity and effectiveness, ensuring their inclusion in reputable international indices.
