The University of Baghdad has obtained the top place among Iraqi universities and colleges in the 2024 edition of the Spanish Webometrics ranking, as published on the official website of the ranking. The ranking results reflect competition among 32,000 university institutions worldwide, based on indicators of virtual presence through their websites, with measures including visibility (50%), transparency (10%), and the strength and excellence of research (40%). In this current edition, the University of Baghdad has progressed in the ranking to 1460.

This academic advancement aligns with the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboodi, and the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, aimed at supporting Iraqi researchers and encouraging them to publish their scientific research in reputable international journals. This effort aims to elevate the University of Baghdad’s ranking and pursue higher positions in respected global rankings focused on scientific research.
