Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Mouloud Shaker said that “The symposium, entitled (Towards a safe community environment from the manifestations of harassment in Iraq), which was held in cooperation with the Department of Women’s Empowerment and a number of research centers and institutes at the University of Baghdad, dealt with the importance of women’s legal awareness and their knowledge of the most important legal procedures and penalties against the harasser to protect themselves.”

She stressed the need to activate the mechanisms of work ethics in dealing and communication between employees of public institutions by the administrative and supervisory authorities concerned by activating the mechanisms of administrative investigation of harassment cases faster, which constitutes the most important support for protecting the rights of working women.

She pointed out that “the spread of the phenomenon of harassment will affect the development of its capabilities in the work environment, which will negatively affect the status and reputation of the institution and the decline in the level of its outputs, which stimulates the establishment of a safe environment from the phenomenon of harassment and then gradually eliminate it within the Iraqi society.”
