University of Baghdad achieved the first rank  among the Iraqi universities in  supplying news and achieving media coverage related  to the academic and scientific activities in various media, to be another  accomplishment added to the university‘s record of excellence.  Dr. Kadhem Omran Musa, director of media and public relations, University of Baghdad said: ‘ The considerable efforts made by the editorial boards news at the University Center, and subsidiary formations of colleges , institutes , centers and departments have had a large participation to continue  the progress of  the university in the fields of possession of being the top in more than global and regional rating.’ He added :   University of Baghdad got the  first rank  ,according to the classification of Public Relations and Media at the ministry, among Iraqi universities by providing the  Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of news and media coverage which aimed at spreading science and knowledge to serve the  goals of development and progress. The director of the Department of Media  and Public Relations stressed : the efforts of the employees of  the mother of Iraqi universities, the University of Baghdad, continue in all areas: at the local, regional and international levels, in order to continue the progress and advancement  of scientific quality, and to befit the status of the  Iraqi Professor or scientist and his developed products in the world.

Baghdad University Announces the Beginning of Submission of the Evening Study of the Academic Year 2013 -2014

University of Baghdad announces the beginning of the submission of evening study  of the academic year 2013 -2014 from  19/08/2013 until  08 /10/2013 for the colleges (College of Education, Ibn al-Haytham, college of Management and Economics, college of Physical Education for Girls, college  of Fine Arts, College of Nursing, College of languages​​, College of arts , college of Education- Ibn Rushd , college  of Islamic Science, college  of Science, college  of Physical Education, college  of political Science, College of Education for girls , and  the submission will  be electronically through the link :

Students who are passed or in the second attempt  of the academic year 2012 /2013 and those passed  in previous years , graduates of of scientific and literary branches and professional sections that are  contained in the application controls of evening study of the academic year 2013 /2014
 The university has allocated four centers for guidance and electronic  checks to facilitate the task of completing the evening  study, they are :
 1 – College of Education Center of  Pure Science  / Ibn al-Haytham (in Adhamiya district).
 2 – College of Business and Economics (in Waziriya district).
 3 – College  of Languages ​​(in the compound of Bab al- Mu’dham ).
 4 -College of Science (in Jadiriya compound).

The Largest Graduation Ceremony in Iraq and the Middle East

The largest celebrations started few minutes ago for the graduates of the University of Baghdad , the Fifty-six course  ” coexistence and  loving “, in the playgrounds  of college of Physical Education ,Jadiriyah Compound.   Representative of the President  and Mr.  representative of the Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ali Al-Adeeb, in addition to a large number of ambassadors and senior figures in the Iraqi parliament and government attended the celebrations. Then Dr. Ali Al Adeeb, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research has delivered  his speech  praising  the role of the University of Baghdad, “mother” University, and the importance of graduates , professors ,their effectiveness and their role in promoting the society, pointing to efforts in organizing the ceremony and those who support it. The president of the university Dr. Alaa’ Abdul hussein  delivered an important speech in this ceremony in which he discussed the role of the University of Baghdad, graduates students, college  and the scientific competencies and its role in the construction and development for the better, expressing his thanks and gratitude to the sponsor of the celebration and the formed committee to organize the celebration. Then, Professor Dr. Alaa’ Kareem , Chairman of the Preparatory Committee delivered a speech praising the great role and importance of this celebration and the work of the Supreme Committee and the supporting committees which made ​​fruitful efforts in preparing and organizing this great festival. The university has developed its potential with rare scientific disciplines and continues to establish and plan for the development of new scientific sections of modern and rare disciplines. We seek that through workshops between our university and Swedish universities or fellowships, or scholarships or scientific conferences and other scientific and cultural activities that  fulfilling cognitive and academic gain for our students and our teachers at the university, and at both practical and theoretical sides, as we seek to put real effective touches towards this potential executable trend, through serious mechanisms that we wish  including in the field of exchange of experiences of professors between our university and your discreet universities , explaining that the university has several memorandums of understanding with major international universities and educational institutions, Which resulted in the establishment of many training centers in our university or fellowship, or scholarships or areas of publishing scientific researches in  discreet scientific and referred journals. The university .President also explained some of the obstacles faced by the Iraqi researcher in some countries like the difficulty of obtaining a visa or residence or universities admission hoping to help our students and researchers in order to achieve scientific interest. The university president stated that the Ministry of Higher Education put programs for research and development, by sending a large number of graduates to complete postgraduate studies in European or American or Canadian universities, as well as there are missions for our students and their supervisors to conduct research field visits to complete the requirements of the study of master’s or doctoral and this can be achieved with Swedish universities if effective mechanisms are provided like  the reception of students and supervisors, and grant  them the universities admission  to complete the requirements of scientific researches , as well as is the case with our  professors being scientifically  devoted in your discreet universities .The university president referred to the freedom of students  in selecting his  University within his academic specialization, and his choice of language that has a great role for choosing the universities, which requires providing more facilities for the students. Swedish Ambassador expressed his pleasure of being in Iraq and his delight of visiting Baghdad University,expressing his great admiration of the university and its scientific developed facilities indicating the desire of Sweden in consolidating the cultural relations and strive to be expanded to serve the interests of the two countries. The Ambassador has asked to make at our in the University of Baghdad and the president of the university welcomed this tour providing all the possibilities for the establishment of the tour and under the supervision of Dr. Alaa‘ Kareem,the Scientific Assistant. The Swedish Ambassador had a tour in the corridors ,courtyards and gardens of the university , accompanied by Dr.Alaa’ Kareem ,Dr. Sabah al-Azzawi and editor of the website , he visited the Central Library and met  the Secretary of the library, inquiring  about the nature of the services provided by the central library for students and researchers ,as well as he viewed some archival pictures for landmarks of  Iraq and Baghdad  . After that the Ambassador visited the college  of Engineering and toured the passages  and met the first professor in Iraq Prof. Dr.Abbas Salimon, then met Dean of college  of Engineering and some professors , welcomed  the Ambassador and expressed is happiness of being hosted by the   Departments and scientific facilities, then the Ambassador visited College of Political Science and met the Dean of the College,who  gave a brief introduction about the college and its scientific disciplines and some of the scientific activities ,heal so presented a collection of books and scientific journals as a gift to the Ambassador. Then the Ambassador had a tour in the corridors of the college of Political Science and viewed the gardens and artificial lakes and squares, and expressed his admiration of the aesthetics landscapes of the university. Later the ambassador met one of the students of our university who speaks Swedish, expressing his satisfaction with the student and the ambition and desire he has for education. Swedish Ambassador Shows Great Admiration of Our University

After the university becomes the focus of attention of senior scientists, intellectuals , leaders and global educational institutions, and having expanded and graduated a huge number of graduates, competencies and inimitable personalities in the society, the university earned a special place among Iraqi and Arab universities, even the international  universities , so a lot of  showed much interest in communicating with our university and develop the relations and exchange the scientific and cultural experiences .In this regard Prof. Dr. Alaa’ Abdul hussein president of the University of Baghdad received Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden Mr. Jorgen Lindstorm to develop the scientific and cultural relations. Early Preparations for the New Academic Year

Every year we are preparing everything  to make  the next academic year better than this year and the next to be  the best and so on till we get the top  that we seek for our university which we see as no less than any advanced global university, especially since our graduates in the forums and scientific tests often obtain advanced ranks besides  that our graduates are now in the foreground with their peers from the other world’s most prestigious universities, for their excellence and good performance. Prof. Dr. Hussein Yousef Mahmoud administrative assistant of the university president said in an interview with the website team of the University that the measures and preparations which we do are great in order to make the next academic year outstanding with all its success and progress and many of the procedures and preparations are now done according to non-traditional approach, as there is an abundance of business in the development and improvement of students classrooms, as well as for the development of internal departments of students  , expanding them and increasing  its numbers year after year, as well as we have significant administrative systems that work in the field of improving and following -up infrastructure and educational institutions.
The website team accompanied the administrative assistant as it makes a field tour in the university facilities and gardens to see its  reality and ways of developing it .The team was accompanied with its assistants  and Director of Finance, Mr. Mohammed Salman, and some of the staff in his office and from the follow-up, where he saw many of the new works and achievements which the university is doing to develop the work and improve performance .He has stressed during his tour on the accuracy of performance, so as to achieve a model focusing at the same time on  the adoption of advanced mechanisms and technology,where he pointed out that the university is seeking seriously about adopting the advanced technological systems at work, stressing that the university president had recommended the implementation of a lot of works according to the  modern foreseeable concept of global developments .The administrative assistant stated that  there are successful experiences we have made,especially in the college  of Engineering, which adopted the advanced mechanisms and technology, where Dr.Hussein occupied the position of assistant  Dean of college of Engineering for years and has had an active role in the development of the college providing  scientific climate and re-maintain  and reconstruct  many laboratories and classrooms, which many colleagues informed us who stressed that the college missed  Dr. Hussein Yousef for his  great services as he received  a large university position.   

The administrative assistant added that a lot of things we have within our strategic plans for the next year will be present, God willing, in front of everyone and my meeting with  the University directors and staff confirms that the  that next year will be a model with all the preparations, God willing, as we  are now preparing to establish a graduate ceremony, work is going on for  the preparations of what follows the  celebration .I am confident that the performance will be improved to develop the work and, God willing, there will be changes and improvements through scientific facilities and classrooms, central air conditioning, and also there are upgrades and improvements which will include all university gardens and alleys. Besides our plans include the development of playgrounds for students, gymnasiums and students clubs, that must be the best and meet the needs of the student. We seek also that the prices are appropriate with students’ potential, and the nature of the services provided by student clubs of foods and drinks, as well as seeking to construct the maximum amount of scientific laboratories at the university. We strive to increase the number of scientific laboratories in order to let the student enjoy them and achieve his scientific classroom and non- classroom experiences, as the students need additional laboratories to be ready after the end of lectures , especially our university contains a large amount of genius and keen students, who have the talent and who have unruly desires in the development of their creative skills and the development of scientific knowledge or academic, therefore  the university president had confirmed the provision and development of laboratories  and we have plans for expansion and development, as well as our quest to provide the latest equipment and advanced scientific machines, and approved by the staff ,and  at  the same time provided for students to apply scientifically . It was necessary to give a chance for students in training within the university, in addition to training outside the university within the governmental and non-governmental organizations. Because the university had graduated a lot of students ,it formed the focus of pride.  It graduated  beneficial generations to the society in all disciplines ; for example  in the political field, as it is known , our university graduated a large  number of creators of politicians and human rights activists , who received  very high positions in the communities . Some of them became president of the republic as the former Indonesian President Waheed or head of the Republic of Iraq , Jalal Talabani, or who has become a leader or a minister or some of them became a leader of intellectual movements and the university still supply the society  with the best  contemporary intellectual leaders. Today a new scientific leading figure appears and through its perseverance, desire and dedication to science and the country, achieves a stream of important achievements of Iraqi society or the scientific community. Due to his  active and good role in the society  , the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific research initiated to entrust this character greater responsibilities in order to achieve characteristic scientific results of the reality of education. The Ministry of Higher Education by virtue of that it is the first sponsor of scientists and innovators is keen to choose the active leading figures that work according to the advanced modern objectivity vision, to develop the reality of higher education. It’s the character of Prof. Dr. Engineer Qassem Doss, Instructor in our university, Dean of the college of Engineering, the scientific supervisor of 37 dissertations and master’s degree in engineering, the author of more than 29 books between authoring and translation, the leading personality in effective renewable technology , who has accomplished a lot  of achievements to the college  of Engineering and our honored university.

The ministry confirmed that it is renewed and even objective at the same time to reflect the bright and glorious fact of education,to choose the developed institutions to deal with, so due to our university achievements and great scientific gains through the College of Engineering /University of Baghdad during the period of the dean Dr. Qasim Doss, the ministry opted to transfer the successful experience to the ministry in order to increase and expand the academic and applied development.

The University has given all the attention and follow – up to the college of Engineering in order to be at the forefront always, where the presidency of the university is keen to follow closely all the engineering activities of students’ projects. Prof. Dr. Alaa’ Abdul hussein , University President ,visits personally the college during the tests and evaluation of the overall student projects, and also inspects the college from time to time  because of the important role of the college at the university.

Dr.Doss added : ” Through my  role as dean of the College I felt that the ministry gives great interest in the success and the superiority of colleges ,especially after our college ‘s ratings of quality assurance as the best college in 2011, and the victory of our college as the best website for 2012 as well as our success in the twinning of our college with the Australian University of “Swinburne” , which is considered an important victory for students of the college  of Engineering.” Dr Qassem, within not a long period had achieved a lot of activities and gains that formed achievements not for the College of Engineering only, but for the university as a whole. Among the most important achievements is  the opening of the broad international training centre of Communication Systems with major global institutions”HUAWEI” telecommunications , which represents the most important and the largest training center in Iraq and the Middle East, for  very  developed potential of training and scientific laboratories , where Mr. Ali al- Adeeb, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research attended the opening , who supported the project and contributed to its achievement according to the  advanced level in education. Dr. Qasim also  developed college  of Engineering, by restoring and reorganizing  the  college almost radically  , through the organization of classrooms ,sport fields ,courtyards and corridors , laboratories and studios of college ,re- updated all  in accordance with the developed international standards, and the emphasis on the development of scientific laboratories for  all the scientific departments in the college , as well as the reorganization of the data collection for the students according to modern electronic systems , and programming them in the international format , which is in line with modern developments.

Also, Dr. Qasim For the first time has adopted the Electronic submission of postgraduate students, which  achieved a great success, to the extent that all colleges in Iraq adopted this approach and applied it in the submission of  studies, to be the pilot experience in Iraq, and with pure Iraqi staff from the college of Engineering, which represents a challenge to all Arab countries and the Middle East, which are  based in such experiments on American or world European companies  for its implementation, the time that Dr. Qasim doss achieved this through his experience and his good relations with scientists of college of Engineering and experts, to form a mature scientific team who works to achieve the success of this new experience, which is a unique experience to support and develop the  establishment of  an electronic management control systems that pave the way for the establishment of e-governance in Iraq. 

Dr. Qassem began and paved the way for the establishment of scientific departments and advanced studies including the opening of a Diploma study in Engineering, and create a new partition for aeronautical engineering in collaboration with major Italian universities and get three fellowships to study in Italian universities, majoring in aerospace engineering to be the most active and feasibility department in the Arab world. He  has also contributed directly in the development of the work of the Consultation Bureau of the college of Engineering,to achieve the large gains of university, but also contributes to the development and reconstruction of the country through the laboratories of Consultation Bureau , which their performance has evolved and improved very much lately .Dr. Qassem was able to get the  position  of Secretary General of the deans of engineering of Arab colleges which are  79 Colleges, after he hosted the meetings of the Arab Union in the college  of Engineering at the University of Baghdad and in coordination with the Arab Union of Arab Universities and the presence of most of the Arab countries inthe headquarters of the college  of Engineering at the University of Baghdad .It is  the first time that the college undermines this position, to have the  secretary from Iraq, where Dr. Qassem transfered the headquarter of the first Arab International Conference of the sustainability to Iraq and with the support of the Minister of Higher Education, so that Iraq obtains a new prestige. 

As soon as he received  his new position  as a deputy of the Minister of Higher Education Professor Ali al – Adeeb, Dr. Qasim initiated with a  set of new effective measures to develop and improve work by  adopting digital technology facilities in the administrative work to develop the performance of the work,without any reluctance or delay may occur, so as to gain effort, time and material at once, as well as Dr. Qasim is busy and with a direct guidance of the Minister of Higher Education to return  all the scientific experiences of higher education through a ministerial committee that interviews and examines Iraq scientific talents from outside Iraq, which would develop work in education and bring their expertise in their countries in Europe and America and international universities.  We follow companies implementing the projects and urged them to complete the projects without any delay , through regulations and international standards that are followed in most of the developed countries ,as we made minute studies to detect any delay may occur in the administrative transactions , where we seek to develop administrative systems to achieve this .We also seek through committees in the ministry in coordination and cooperation for the advancement of the energy and engineering reality in Iraq. We have come to many of the implementations of a number of events and the performance , as well as  we now have projects to develop the industry in Iraq and in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Industry , which , God willing, will have clear resonance  in the near future  to raise  in our local industry , as well as we have  many formats with the Ministry of Municipalities providing expertises and scientific talents for the raising  of the reality of  infrastructure projects. Baghdad University Celebrates the Promotion of its Creative Faculties

Today the University of Baghdad has its active movement in that its esteemed presidency  cares always and  again  under the auspices and supervision of Prof.Dr. Alaa’ Abdul hussein Abdul rasul, president of the University of Baghdad,Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa’ Kareem Mohammed, Assistant president of  Academic Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Hussein Youssef  Mahmoud, Assistant president  of  Administrative Affairs, to embrace another kind of accomplishment.

While celebrating the academic promotion of its elite faculties,who have had their creative fingerprints scientifically, ethically and administratively, to approach their major university, adherent to its discreet traditions that remains a title to glory and prosperity, including the Director of the Office of the President of the university instructor  Abdul Kareem Muneer Abdul razzaq, Director of quality Assurance and academic performance Department.

Directors of  administrative formations in the presidency of the university met to celebrate the promotion where  the Department of Information and Public Relations under the supervision of Dr. Kadhem Moussa Omran, had the  role in putting the cornerstone  while selecting  features of this carnival and others, , so the individual joy is  the joy of everyone.  Our university media contributes to create atmosphere of progress that  the university achieves days after another by getting international ranks in different fields.

Huge Preparations of the Largest Graduation Ceremony in the Middle East

 
The university is preparing for the largest celebration that the Arab world and the Middle East witnessed, where a new group of graduates will graduate from the University of Baghdad for the course  56 ” coexistence and loving,” and in the stadiums of the   college  of Physical Education, Jadiriya compound. A representative of the President of the Republic, a representative of the Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research will attend the ceremony, in addition to a large number of the figures in the Iraqi parliament and the government .This ceremony will be held at six o’clock in the evening on Saturday, 09/21/2013 and it will include several paragraphs and events as well as honoring top students of the colleges and university. the president  of the university Prof. Dr. Alaa ‘Abdulhussein  explained for  our website that this year will be full of surprises for our dear students, to our belief fully that our society deserves our appreciation and goodness, so we’re going to serve the society  in graduating the most important and the best scientific competent  that meet the aspirations and ambitions of the society , Dr. Alaa’ Abdulhussein has instructed  few months ago to form a preparatory committee of  the celebration for the purpose of providing the best image of the university and the best in this celebration and instructed that the ceremony this year will be distinctive, where the university president  will supervise personally  the ceremony  to overcome all the obstacles, as he makes  field visits to stadiums of the  college of Physical of Education where  training of the celebration is held.
The website Administration followed –up  these preparations and conducted a meeting with the President of the Preparatory Committee for the celebration, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa’ Kareem, Scientific Assistant of president  who told us that the settings and preparations of the workshops and laboratories are now in full swing in the stadiums and corridors of the University of Baghdad a. The preparation of decorations and the audiovisual and the lighting effects of the celebration is completed, as a giant and unique screen was erected in the stadium of the college in order to transfer the activities of celebration for the attendance at the stadium. An entire building under the platform of the stadium also is created to accommodate the audience and provide services to the guests and was furnished with the most appropriate and beautiful modern furniture,  and  the flooring pitch and al tartan has also been maintained  organized  and planned .Many  loyal and loving the nation and society workers for  the success of this celebration of this year and we completed about  99% of the preparations for the celebration, which we hope to obtain satisfaction of our Iraqi society , where all the flags of Iraq , the colleges and the university with landmarks decorations were set up and prepared, as well as the preparation of the training and rehearsals of  walking and review of the ceremony is completed. Invitations to attend the celebration are sent to the ministries and to the members of the diplomatic crops and some officials.  Dr. Alaa’ Kareem added that a lot of pleasant surprises will be through the celebration adding that the celebration will begin with faction of the military college holding Iraqi flags accompanied by the choir of the music of the College of the military. The setting of the media campaigns that will accompany the celebration and organization to receive large numbers of satellite channels and media institutions that would attend the celebration has also been prepared. Iraqiya Channel will broadcast  the ceremony alive .
Prof. Dr. Hussein Yousef the administrative assistant stated that all potentials for this celebration were done  which represents the first of the University’s s throughout the whole year that we graduate a group of academic competent of doctors, engineers, scientists and experts, writers, artists, journalists, pharmacists, teachers and counselors working in one pot to serve the society , and all of the University  administartive departments have put  their efforts to have a typical celebration of all celebrations in the Middle East and the Arab world. Our website will broadcast the events alive  on the site and cover exceptionally for the importance of this celebration. It is expected that the website will photograph more than 5,000 photographs, documenting more than 40 video hours of for the preparations of this celebration.  As well as coordination with all stakeholders, and to prepare for a special program to accommodate the large numbers, which is expected to exceed more than 1,000 visitors in this celebration. There will be generous Arabian hospitality for the attendance and  welcoming and receiving  the r graduates and their precious families . The distribution of graduate garments for gradutated students have been completed .It is coordinated with Dr. Hussein al-Tai, Director of Student Affairs at the University to prepare  lists of graduates of this year after the announcement of the results of the examinations in the colleges.
