Assist.Prof.Hakim Hamoud Fleyeh, from the College of Administration and Economics, Department of Financial and Banking Sciences, has published a scientific research paper in a Scopus-indexed journal titled “Analysis of the Accounting Financial Performance of Private Listed Banks in the Emerging Market for the Period 2010–2022.”

The research aimed to investigate the impact of accounting financial performance analysis on the stock market, represented by private banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange, on the Iraqi economy. This inquiry takes place amid the potential future market activity following Iraq’s openness to the world, juxtaposed with the international risks and obstacles faced by banks, particularly from the United States. These challenges could potentially lead to problems and crises within the banking sector.

This research has reached several key conclusions, with one of the most significant being that the Iraqi stock market lacks particular importance for the Iraqi economy. The economic weakness in dealing with international shocks makes the implementation of monetary and fiscal policies challenging.
