The Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, received in his office at the Presidency of the University, Muhammad Azim bin Al-Ansari, Chargé d’Affaires of the Malaysian Embassy in Iraq, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Enas Khalifa Al-Sharqi, Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the university.

The meeting discussed ways of cooperation between Malaysian and Iraqi universities and institutions, which is required for the next stage of creating opportunities and prospects for cooperation, and how much Al-Saadi invited Malaysian students to benefit from the Study in Iraq program. It was agreed that the two parties would have meetings and a series of joint workshops and lectures.

Al-Saadi expressed the university’s serious desire to cooperate and increase cultural and scientific ties between Malaysian universities and the University of Baghdad, and to achieve a number of scientific and cultural gains, through communication and intellectual cross-fertilization between Malaysian universities and the university, and the Malaysian Chargé d’Affaires expressed his happiness with his presence in Iraq and visiting the University of Baghdad, and his great admiration for the university and its large and advanced scientific facilities, indicating the desire of the State of Malaysia to consolidate cultural relations, and seek to expand them to serve the interests shared between the two friendly countries.
