A delegation from the University of Baghdad, headed by the Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Munir Hameed Al-Saadi, visited the University of Lille in France. This took place during the University of Baghdad’s delegation visit to France, with the attendance of Prof.Dr. Ghassan Hameed Abdul Majeed, Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Raed Falih Hassan, Dean of the College of Science, and Prof.Dr. Inas Khalifa Al-Sharqi, Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University.

During the visit, the focus was on highlighting the achievements of the University of Baghdad and presenting an overview of its strategic plans, with a particular spotlight on its positioning within prestigious global rankings. The importance of building sustainable partnerships, especially concerning postgraduate and undergraduate students, was emphasized. There was a specific focus on activating the visiting professor program, increasing research grants for Iraqi students, participating in electronic examination committees for Iraqi students, and providing virtual training courses. Additionally, the delegation visited advanced educational and research laboratories at the University of Lille and Lille Central School of Engineering.

The concept of establishing an electronic platform, proposed by the professors of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, to enhance interaction and facilitate scientific exchange between students and researchers from both universities was discussed. The idea was presented and reviewed with delegation members and relevant French universities. Additionally, the suggestion to sign a memorandum of understanding was made to promoting mutual international collaboration and define the framework for future cooperation. The University of Lille is considered one of the prestigious universities in the European arena, excelling in offering specializations in environmental sciences, health, energy, and computer engineering. Additionally, it boasts advanced innovation centers.
