The College of Education for Girls at the University of Baghdad held a ceremony on the occasion of International Human Rights Day in cooperation with the Human Rights Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), in the presence of Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, Rector of the University of Baghdad, Dr. Ithmar Al-Shatri, Dean of the College of Education for Girls and the United Nations Representative in Iraq, Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Walid Al-Hilli, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Women’s Affairs Alla Talabani, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Youth and Sports, as well as parliamentary figures who attended the ceremony and a number of a large number of teachers and students.

The ceremony aimed to activate human rights law by celebrating the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which coincided with the national occasion of Iraq’s victory over the terrorist gangs of ISIS, and the announcement of the program of the College of Education for Girls on human rights, democracy and peacebuilding to be implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University of Baghdad, as the College of Education for Girls seeks to implement this program in partnership with the Human Rights Office in the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). The ceremony also included theatrical performances that embodied the history of Iraq and its successive civilizations, and cultural and artistic events that sang the love of Iraq, victory over terrorism, and the suffering of our people in Gaza patient.
