The Continuing Education Units, Ibn Sina, Educational Guidance, and Psychological Counseling units, along with Women Empowerment at the College of Political Science, University of Baghdad, conducted a symposium in collaboration with the Training and Development Directorate of the National Security Apparatus titled “The Risks of Drug Spread in Society and Ways to Combat Them.”

The head of the National Security Apparatus, Karar Mosafer, emphasized the importance of such symposiums. In his speech at the conference, he provided a detailed explanation about drugs, their types, their impact on the human body, addiction symptoms, methods of prevention, and the social and health aspects of addiction. He stressed the significance of academic institutions in raising awareness among the university community about the dangers of drugs and the need for more informative seminars to educate young people about the risks of substances and the importance of reporting suspicious cases in society.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the National Security Agency emphasized the importance of collaboration with security agencies to achieve community security. They also highlighted the need for launching comprehensive awareness campaigns within the university community about the risks of drugs, in addition to strengthening family supervisory roles.
