Within the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Department of Horticulture and Garden Engineering at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a training course under the supervision and follow-up of the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Wafa Ali Hussein and Dr. Abeer Dawood Salman, entitled (Hydroponics is a step to achieve sustainable agriculture) in the presence of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Amira Muhammad Saleh, and a number of college members in the department.
The course dealt with a detailed explanation of the importance of hydroponics and its systems and the preparation of nutrient solutions for plant growth, as well as the presentation of soilless farming systems and the types of agricultural media used with a practical application of plant cultivation in both systems.
