The College of Engineering, Department of Petroleum Engineering, held a workshop entitled Writing Sober Scientific Research, Choosing Journals and Publishing Methods within the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, delivered by the lecturer at the College of Science – Department of Earth Sciences and Editor-in-Chief of the Iraqi Geological Journal, Prof. Dr. Saleh Muhammad Awad, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid, and a number of teachers, graduate students and researchers.
The workshop aimed to provide a database of the most important tools of the researcher in the process of writing his research and the method of preparing and writing scientific research and how to choose the appropriate journal for each specialized scientific research and ways to send the research to international scientific journals in order to enhance the academic reputation of researchers in Iraqi universities. The workshop also touched on the types of scientific publications that can be of interest to the university and college in international classifications and the workshop witnessed interaction from engineering students and attendees At the end of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid on the valuable information and what was included in the workshop of a distinct presentation of the most important needs of the researcher in his scientific career, adding some useful information on how to choose sober journals and write the research and the need to pay attention to the subject of translation, stressing the work to establish a consulting office for translation to facilitate the work of researchers.
