The Rector of University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr.Munir Hameed Al-Saadi, welcomed a delegation from the Japanese Embassy in Iraq. The delegation was represented by the Japanese Charge d’Affaires in Baghdad and several academics from Japanese universities. The meeting was attended by Assistant Rector for Scientific Affairs, Prof.Dr.Marwan Ashour, and Prof.Dr.Inas Khalifa, the Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University Presidency.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancing mutual understanding between the two countries in academic and scientific fields. They also discussed the signing of a memorandum of understanding, encompassing the establishment of channels for collaboration between Japanese and Iraqi universities. This collaborative research would include joint supervision of research projects and teaching the Japanese language in Iraq. Additionally, they explored the utilization of the “Study in Iraq” program for Japanese students.
At the end of the meeting, the guests were honored with the shield of the University of Baghdad. The guests also expressed their happiness with the visit to our university, wishing for continued research and academic collaboration between the two friendly countries.
