The College of Administration and Economics organized a workshop titled “Leadership Management by Subordinates” as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week activities. The workshop was presented by the lecturer. Zahraa Sabah Abdul Hassan in the Business Administration Department. And it highlighted the importance of this process and provided valuable guidance to ensure success.

The workshop concluded with several recommendations, including the recognition that managing the president may seem like a simple process but is crucial for the success of any organization. The first step involves preparing a “President’s List” by outlining each subordinate’s responsibilities and their role in directing or guiding others. This list also identifies individuals who appreciate the work, expect to have an opinion about it, and those who rely on it in their work. The selected presidents are then requested to contribute by being asked by the president, “What contribution will enhance the president’s performance?” Empowering each president to reach their maximum potential comes next. It is essential to maximize the strengths of each president, focusing on supporting aspects that contribute to individual and collective success. Ignoring and sidelining the president’s weaknesses, staying constantly informed, and updating presidents with the latest information and developments are crucial steps. This ensures sustained outstanding performance and team integration in facing continuous challenges. Protecting presidents from unexpected surprises reflects proactive caution and contributes to maintaining the stability of the administrative process. Finally, subordinates should not underestimate the president but rather appreciate and recognize their importance as partners in achieving the organization’s major goals.

In summary, managing the president requires careful thought and hard work. It is both a significant opportunity and a substantial responsibility. The workshop was attended by faculty, staff, and students of the college.
