The University of Baghdad organized a scientific lecture titled “Head and Neck Reconstruction,” delivered by Prof.Dr. Mazemel Nasrat Ahmed from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, who is also a member of the Board of Maxillofacial Surgery. The lecture was attended by several faculty members and postgraduate students at the college.
The lecture aimed to familiarize attendees with the topic of oral cancer, its associated surgery, and the types of available treatments in the United Kingdom. It covered various aspects, including the diagnosis of oral cancers, types of cosmetic surgeries, and the use of robotics in surgery.
In conclusion, the lecture proposed several recommendations, including the future adoption of robotics in surgery and expanding the scope of surgeries used for different types of oral cancers. It also suggested collaboration in joint research with the British team.
