The Department of Astronomy and Space Sciences at the College of Science at the University of Baghdad organized its second international scientific conference, in the presence of the Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Faleh Hassan, the Governor of Baghdad, Eng. Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta, the Rector of Al Ain University, Prof. Dr. Shafiq Shaker Shafiq, and a large number of teachers and students.

The Rector of the University of Baghdad congratulated in his speech the College of Science for holding this unique conference in Iraqi universities, as this specialization is the only one among the scientific disciplines in Iraq, praising all university employees for obtaining the University of Baghdad’s first place locally in the Webometrics global classification, with the efforts of its formations and teachers who promote the mother of Iraqi universities. The activities of the first day of the conference concluded with the distribution of shields of appreciation to the Rector of the University of Baghdad, the Dean of the College of Science, and the Governor of Baghdad, as well as other shields to the participants and the preparatory and scientific committees.

It is noteworthy that the Second International Scientific Conference on Astronomy and Space had accepted forty-five research in the field of astronomy, space and their technologies, remote sensing, and atmospheric sciences, through studies and research that will discuss ways to use means of monitoring and analysis in cooperation with observatories, identify future phenomena and see the crescents and express an opinion on them, and conduct laboratory studies that call for the development of monitoring devices and the preparation of information analysis and processing programs.
