To accomplish the objectives of our esteemed university by fostering connections with refereed international institutions, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed by the Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Munir Al-Saadi, and Professor Pascale Quester, the Vice-Chancellor and President of Swinburne University of Technology in Australia. This MOU is focused on strengthening academic collaboration in the fields of civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
The MOU’s primary objective is to resume the 1+2+1 program, allowing University of Baghdad students to spend their first year of study at Swinburne University, and their second and third years of study at the University of Baghdad. This program will involve online lectures delivered by professors from Swinburne University to students at the University of Baghdad, the participation of professors from both universities in master’s degree dissertation committees, joint supervision of master’s degree students, and hosting of faculty members from both universities.
Additionally, the MOU facilitates student and faculty exchange, joint research projects, and the development of educational and training programs. The signing of this MOU represents a significant step towards strengthening cooperation between the University of Baghdad and international universities in general, and Swinburne University in particular, it is a testament to the commitment of the two universities to providing high-quality education and research.
