In pursuit of achieving the sustainable development goals aimed at promoting physical activity and well-being, the University of Baghdad recently hosted a training session for the Iraqi National Football Team. The session took place at the University of Baghdad’s main stadium and was organized to prepare the team for their participation in the King’s Cup held in Thailand. The event was graced by the presence of the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Captain Adnan Darjal, as well as the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Science, Prof. Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf.

This collaboration in the field of sports serves as a means to fulfill SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education). Through this platform, skills can be enhanced and knowledge can be transferred, aligning with these goals.

Furthermore, the partnership between the University of Baghdad and the national football team serves as a shining example of the essence of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), forging connections that bridge academia and sports for societal advancement.
