Under the leadership of the Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, the Department of Studies and Planning at the Presidency of the university organized a virtual symposium on the University of Baghdad’s sustainable development platform (Zoom(. The symposium was titled “Digital Transformation, Educational Systems, and Sustainable Development,” and it witnessed the active participation of numerous researchers, professors, and students.

During the symposium, Prof. Fikri Fouad, a professor of Systems and Digital Transformation at American and Gulf Universities, presented his insights on implementing digital methodologies related to integrating technology into educational systems and dealing with the digital transformation process in education. He discussed various aspects, including the role of education in the contemporary digital cultural landscape and strategies for digital education, curriculum development, educational research, and gifted care.

The symposium aimed to elucidate the genuine concepts of digital transformation and its influence on the education sector. It sought to delve into the related technologies and provide an overview of contemporary technologies that can bolster the educational system. Additionally, the symposium discussed the potential outcomes of these new technologies, both positive and negative.

This initiative is part of a series of activities organized on the University of Baghdad’s sustainable development platform, which was launched by our prestigious university, headed by the Manager of the Department of Studies and Planning, Dr. Manal Al-Kubaisi. This platform will serve as a forum for discussions and enhancing societal awareness, and advancing the realization of sustainable development objectives.
