Under the guidance of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim  Al-Aboudi, and sponsored by the Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Al-Saadi, the College of Islamic Sciences organized a scientific symposium on gender and its risks.

The symposium was attended by the Assistant Rector for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Marwan Abdul Hameed Ashour. It was the first episode of a series of multiple episodes to be conducted by the college and the University of Baghdad. This engaging symposium included three key axes: the first axis covered psychological risks, the second axis covered social risks, and the third axis covered security risks. The aim was to educate students and academics of the seriousness of the concept of gender.

This symposium was intended to strongly oppose the use and application of this term both within and outside the university. The organizers emphasized that we are a society with an Islamic identity and culture.
